Balance is a working condition, not a score
Central harmony is not a chart in which every element appears once. It is the state in which the elements can keep moving without any one of them freezing the system — the climate is neither scorched nor frozen, and the day master has enough to act without being swamped. Once this condition is recognised, the finer behaviour of the five elements becomes readable rather than mysterious.
