The mediator and the one who cuts in

Two elements may be willing to work together but stand too far apart; what makes the connection is a third that mediates — the same 'opening the pass' idea from the first volume, now applied to relationships. The other half of the chapter is its caution: an outside element can insert itself between two that belong together, and what began as support turns into grievance. In chart terms, look for the spirit that links two parties and for the one that separates them.
