Almost following is still useful
True following is rare: hardly any chart gives the day master no root at all. The chapter's practical contribution is that a chart which almost follows — weak, able to lean on a dominant element, but not wholly without a base — can still rise in the world, provided the reading recognises the partial allegiance instead of forcing it into either the ordinary or the fully-following mould. Most real charts live in this middle ground.
